New Beginnings @ National City

What an exciting summer we are having at National City Christian Church!

Hundreds of American Guild of Organists have filled the sanctuary with music and the Diversity Ambassadors have worked on issues like racial reconciliation. Scouts have come and gone as well as multiple groups enjoying the Bunkhouse ministry. These hallowed halls have been anything but quiet this summer.

With our New Beginnings small groups in full swing, I have been inspired by the significant conversations that are taking place at 5 Thomas Circle on Sunday and other times during the week, as well as in members’ homes. If there is one thing that we can say with assurance about these meetings: we are not a shy or unopinionated group. And that’s a good thing! Our passion for this church and our desire for significant work in this place are marvelous assets that we can build upon in the near future.

Don’t miss a Sunday in August – if at all possible. We continue our small group work this month, and our Sunday morning celebrations will help us focus our study themes and Scripture texts.

In addition, August 8 will be a special day when Mrs. Linda Bradley, Charlie Ross’s daughter, will share with us “How National City Christian Church has changed her life” as we continue our preparations for the 80th anniversary, October 17. Don’t miss it!

Looking ahead, Sunday, September 12 is Spirit Sunday – a great day of music and celebration. In addition, plan to enjoy Christian fellowship at the church picnic on Saturday, September 11. More information about the picnic is inside this month's issue of National City News.

This is not the month to take a holiday from worship, join us each Sunday – as you are able – to sing praises to God and seek God’s leadership in this time and place.

See you Sunday!
